The exhibition ArtWalks Experience (Art in Motion) by Milena ZeVu
will commence in Silosi, Dorćol, at 8 p.m. on the 10ᵗʰ of June

The exhibition contains 20 years of conceptual artist ZeVu’s work, from her earliest paintings, in which she experimented with various techniques and art forms, through to body art, installations, and video. Also featured are performance art and the use of the latest technologies, including NFT and AR (augmented reality).

The exhibition will be held in Silosi’s unconventional space at Dunavski kej 46 in Belgrade from the 10ᵗʰ to the 19ᵗʰ of June, 2022. Its curator is Nina Vagić.

A number of artistic events have been organized for these ten days. They include a conversation with the artist about her work and an artistic-musical dance performance. The duo PUERTO FLAMENCO from Seville, Spain, as well as prominent Serbian concert pianist and composer Irina Dečermić will perform on the 18ᵗʰ of June.

The general sponsor of the exhibition is Luštica Bay, both the largest investment project in Montenegro and a city in the making. The other sponsors are OTP Bank, Silos, Gaia Movement, Black Pine and DEFINE digital.

Exhibition

The narrative of the exhibition is presented through 16 rooms, or „cells“. Visitors will have the opportunity to move through a space of 700 square meters, following the development path of the artist ZeVu from the beginning of her work to the present day.

The exhibition includes the following works:

About the ArtWalks project


ArtWalks, the focus of the exhibition, offers visitors a unique interactive art experience. It emphasizes ZeVu’s desire to liberate art from conventional exhibition spaces and from the dominant Western system of contemporary art in general. Fusing with her work, she seeks to maintain its independence and preserve freedom of artistic creation.

About the musical performance

During the ten days of the exhibition, several artistic events will be organized, including the performances of the duo PUERTO FLAMENCO from Seville and the prominent Serbian concert pianist and composer Irina Dečermić, on the 18ᵗʰ of June at 8 p.m.

Andrej, who was born in Belgrade, and his wife Francesca “La Chica” comprise both PUERTO FLAMENCO and the famous Maltese folk-fusion band ETNIKA. They have led flamenco master classes in Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, Malta, the Baltic states, Thailand, Japan, and Morocco. This artist-couple offers a unique rhythmic connection to and deep understanding of art form which stem from 25 years of working together across five continents, where they have participated in prominent festivals including The Montreux Jazz Festival, WOMAD Festival, Biennale de Sevilla, Festival de Jerez, and at the Sydney Opera House.

Irina Dečermić's career spans more than 30 years. Her passion for music has led her to a new adventure: the exploration of sound. This performance is dedicated to combining sound, frequencies, and vibrations with movement.
